According to the "HJ637-2018" standard, the water sample is extracted with tetrachloroethylene under the condition of pH ≤ 2, and the oil is determined after the extraction liquid is adsorbed with magnesium silicate to remove polar substances such as animal and vegetable oils. The wave numbers of oil and petroleum are 2930cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH 2 group), 2960 CM-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in CH3 group) and 3030 cm-1 (stretching vibration of C-H bond in aromatic ring), respectively. The content of animal and vegetable oil is the difference between oil and petroleum.
It is applied to the determination of petroleum, animal and vegetable oils in industrial wastewater and domestic sewage.
